Donors Welcome the African Development Fund (ADF-12) Implementation

The Mid-Term Review of the African Development Fund (ADF-12) implementation concluded in Praia, Cape Verde took place on 12-14 September, 2012. Donors reiterated their support to the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and commended the institution for its efforts to improve its results and institutional reforms.

Discussions focused primarily on AfDB’s operational priorities, its institutional effectiveness, resource allocation, ADF’s financing capacity and sustainability over the long term, as well as development results.

The meeting was an opportunity for participants to visit important rural development and thermal wind and solar energy projects that have received funding from the ADF. It was attended by Cape Verde’s Finance and Planning Minister, Mrs. Cristina Duarte, government ministers from Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya and Malawi; as well as the Bank’s President, Donald Kaberuka and the meeting coordinator, Mr. Geoff Lamb.
