Business Opportunities

The African Development Bank spends approximately 40 million Euros a year on goods, works and services for its internal requirements, which excludes project related procurement and consultancy.  Most of the Bank’s procurement is conducted by the Institutional Procurement and Logistics Division.  In addition, other purchases may be made directly by Field Offices and Managers of various Cost Centers.

Depending on the Bank’s needs, the Institutional Procurement and Logistics Division issues Requests for Proposals or Invitations for Bids.  In some cases, contracts may be issued without a formal competition or purchases may be made through the use of a Purchasing Card.

The Bank promotes socially and environmentally responsible procurement and encourages vendors’ commitment to fair wages and benefits, safety, and environmental programs.
