AfDB Corporate Social Responsibility

In line with our mission - help fight poverty on the continent by financing development projects - we support a broad range of community initiatives, through donations and community sponsorships, and employee volunteer activities. As part of our corporate social responsibility, we offer financial assistance to non-governmental organizations that are involved in efforts aimed at eradicating poverty.

In a bid to help provide students from poor homes with the means to enable them undergo training in our Tunis-based office, the Bank Group has recently agreed to paid internships for students seeking to acquire experience in their fields of study.

We are also engaged in efforts at reducing the intensity of our environmental footprint. In this regard, we have a recycling policy which requires that all paper used by the institution be recycled and reused. In this regard, the AfDB has signed an agreement with a Tunisian firm that will recycle all the paper used by the institution.  This agreement is in line with the institution’s efforts to be environmentally responsible.

To provide people adversely affected by projects financed by the Bank Group with an independent mechanism through which they can request the Bank Group to comply with its own policies and procedures, the institution has set up an independent review mechanism.
