Organization & format
The third African Economic Conference will be held from 12 to 14 November 2008 in Tunis under the theme "Globalization, Institutions and Economic Development of Africa". The Conference will include plenary as well as parallel sessions.
The plenary speakers will be high level specialists in various fields. The parallel sessions will be based on papers submitted by participants and selected by a panel of senior AfDB and UNECA staff.
Depth and scope of the program
Internationally renowned experts will lead the plenary sessions. The parallel sessions will be constituted of discussion and debate around the selected papers.
The main objective of these meetings is to examine Africa’s growth prospects and to design a way forward.
Rich opportunities for partnerships
Informal meetings and special events provide participants with opportunities to meet and create new partnerships. The African Economic Conference therefore appears as a major networking place for experts, government officials and researchers.
