Mohamed Safouane Ben Aïssa

Dr. Mohamed Safouane Ben Aïssa is a Professor of Macroeconometrics and Head of the Research Laboratory of Quantitative Economics of Development at Tunis El Manar University. He holds an MSc and a PhD in Economics from the University of Aix Marseille II (France) in 2004. Initially, he is an engineer in statistics and applied economics graduate of the INSEA Rabat (Morocco) in 1998. He obtains his HDR (Habilitation for Supervising Doctoral Research) in February 2007. Before joining Tunis El Manar University, he has served as Associate Professor of Economics at University of Jendouba (2005-2007) and University of Paris X-Nanterre (2001-2005).
His principal research areas concern monetary policy, business cycles, economic integration, trade, emerging markets finance, market efficiency, volatility modeling and risk management in international capital markets. His most recent articles are forthcoming and published in refereed journals such as Journal of Banking and Finance, Bulletin of Economic Research, Journal of Times Series Econometrics, Journal of Empirical Finance.
