Sylvain H.Boko

Professor Sylvain H.Boko is an Associate Professor of economics at Wake Forest University (USA), where he has taught since 1997. He has published in the areas of institutional and economic reform, decentralization, local community finance, gender and globalization. His work has focused on decentralization and governance, economic development, and socioeconomic impact assessment of international development programs. He served as project manager and SIA technical advisor on the West African Gas Pipeline (WAGP) project; and designed the fiscal decentralization policy currently being applied in Rwanda. He was also a key member of the team that designed and implemented a decentralization support program in Benin. As a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Boko conducted field research in Uganda assessing the impact of the Uganda fiscal decentralization program on local economic development. He has also conducted an assessment of the decentralization process in Mali, Ghana, and Burkina Faso.
