Mamphela Aletta Ramphele

Medical Doctor

Dr Mamphela Aletta  Ramphele , is a South African medical doctor and anthropologist, specialised in problems concerning social development. She was an anti-apartheid activist and was one of the founders of the Black Consciousness Movement (BCM), along with Steve Biko. She is Executive Chairperson, Circle Capital ventures, a venture capital black economic empowerment company in Cape Town (South Africa) and a board member of the Rockefeller Foundation.
