Description

Domestic resource mobilization is a necessary component of any sustainable path to development. Tax revenues can provide a stable and predictable source of finance for development, while ODA can be volatile and conditioned on varying requirements. Moreover, increased tax revenues can also improve governance structures to motivate calls for accountable, transparent, and efficient government. The more citizens invest in their government, the more engaged they become in governance issues, including demanding integrity and effective management of government funds.
