A race against time
Kurt Lonsway is currently manager of the Environment and Climate Change Division of the African Development Bank. He works with a team of environmental, social, climate change and energy specialists and manages climate finance initiatives such as the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) and the Africa Climate Change Fund ( ACCF). Mr. Lonsway has over 30 years of international work experience in environmental and social issues, climate change and oil and gas primarily in Africa and Asia.
In the face of an environmental crisis in Africa and elsewhere, one thing is clear: nature provides man with an abundance of essential services which must be preserved.
