Measuring the pulse of Economic Transformation in West Africa
West Africa is at the heart of Africa’s transformation. With a projected growth rate of 7.4 per cent in 2014, it is the fastest growing region in the continent. As many of its countries undergo a strong stabilization, emerge from conflict, or even rise to middle income status, the region begins to reap the fruits of its regional and global integration. A global demand for expert opinions and analysis is rising rapidly.
The West Africa Blog will provide a platform for insight, analysis, and updates from the ORWA economists across the fifteen countries of West Africa and beyond. It will fill the large gap that exists between insufficient media exposure and a research scholarship beyond most people’s grasp.
Short posts and analysis will provide the readers with the necessary tools to understand the latest developments and the stories that shape West Africa, with a strong emphasis on economic affairs.
The blog will be frequently updated by our bloggers drawn from the West Africa Department and beyond.
