Cameroon Selected Projects

03/05/2016 - There is currently no passable road link between Yaoundé and Brazzaville. The sections of road between Ketta and Djoum on this route are in very poor condition, isolating the regions crossed. Consequently, it is not releasing the agricultural, mining and tourism potential that these areas have and is acting as a brake on the promotion of trade between the two countries.

10/11/2015 - Today, nearly 2.5 million of the country's 23 million inhabitants reside in the Cameroonian capital of Yaoundé – over 60% of which is covered by low income settlement housing. The Mfoundi Canal, the city's main drainage system, has with time become a receptacle for household refuse, industrial waste, domestic and industrial sewage and excreta from uncontrolled housing areas. This waste accumulates at the top end of the underground canals and its effluents, obstructing the normal flow of runoff water.

In fact, the African Development Bank-financed project is a genuine success story, paving the way for regional integration and greater social cohesion.
