Morocco: Tangiers (El Hachef) Drinking Water Supply Project (1.1 MB)
Abstract: The evaluation of the project to provide Tangiers in Morocco with drinking water from the El Hachef dam is the subject of this abridged project performance audit report (PPAR). The borrower identified and prepared the project using studies carried out in 1970 and 1974. These studies had pointed out the mismatch between demand in the, region Tangiers and Assilah and the resources tapped. Of a total cost of UA 19.43 million, the project was appraised by the Bank in September 1983 and financed with an ADB loan of UA 10, 87 million approved in June 1984. The loan became effective 4 months later and the project was completed in 1990.

Djibouti: Project for the Supply of Water to the Towns of Djibouti and Dikhil (2.6 MB)
Abstract: This audit performance report concerns the project to supply water to the towns of Djibouti and Dikhila, emergency phase. The object as identified and prepared in the context of a pre-investment and operational study for the supply of water to five urban centers carried out in 1982 with funds provided by Belgium. Before then, a first hydrological study had been financed with German bilateral assistance with a view to locating the country’s underground water resources. Further to a request from the Djibouti Government, the project was evaluated by the Bank in January 1983.

Benin: Water And Electricity Supply For Nine District Chief Towns (6.5 MB)
Abstract: This project is part of a vast programme initiated by the Government of Benin in the mid 1970s, aimed at providing secondary centers with adequate water and electricity services. Feasibility and electricity studies for 12 chief towns were completed in August 1981 (on ADF financing). They served as a basis for appraisal of the present project, whose objective was to provide 9 district chief towns with a potable water network designed to provide 30 1/day/hour and an electricity distribution network. The population concerned by the project is made up of 892,235 inhabitants (1992 census).
