Krüger, Ralf
Ralf Krüger joined the African Development Bank in August 2012 as Chief Research Economist. Prior to joining the Bank, he worked for several years for the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), with a focus on foreign investment and development, and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), where he worked on issues of economic development and macroeconomics. He contributed to flagship publications and other research at both institutions. Before joining the UN, Ralf was a researcher and lecturer at the University of Giessen in Germany, and a strategy consultant with Accenture Germany. He holds a Ph.D. in economics and a master’s degree in business administration from University of Giessen as well as an MA in economics from the University of Wisconsin, USA.
Research Interests
Impact assessments of investment projects (ex post and ex ante), investment climate and locational determinants, energy sector investments, green economy issues, and development strategies.
