Mlambo, Kupukile

Kupukile Mlambo is attached to the Chief Economist as lead expert. He joined the Bank in 1997 as a Principal Research Economist. He then moved to the Bank’s Operations Department as a Principal Country Economist working on Ghana and Liberia, and was later promoted to Chief Country Economist covering the SADC countries. Before joining the Bank, Mr. Mlambo worked as a university academic, first at the University of Zimbabwe as a lecturer in Economics, and then at the University of Fort Hare in South Africa as a Senior lecturer in Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Goteborg Universitet in Sweden.
Research interests
Mr. Mlambo’s research interests cover areas such as economic growth, finance, investment, and productivity growth. He has published papers in referred journals and as chapters in edited books.
