Ahmed Moummi is Research Economist in the Networking and Research Partnership Division (EDRE.2) of the Development Research Department (EDRE). Prior to joining the Bank in October 2007, he has been a lecturer for 10 years at the University of Mascara, Algeria, where he taught quantitative techniques, operational research and development economics. He was also Head of Department and chairman of the scientific council of the Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Mascara, Algeria. Ahmed Moummi holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Tlemcen, Algeria, a Magister in Economics and engineering Statistics of the Statistics Institute of Algiers.

Research interests

His research interests cover areas such as measurement of poverty and inequalities, informal economy, micro-econometric modeling and operational research.
