Mubiru, Alex Mutebi

Alex M. Mubiru is a Principal Research Economist in the African Development Bank’s research department. He specializes in the political economy of governance and institutional reforms, with a particular interest in developing country settings. Prior to joining the African Development Bank, he was a lecturer in Singapore at both the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore and at the Singapore Management University. Earlier in his career he was based in Thailand as a Public Sector Specialist for the World Bank and as a research associate at the Thailand Development Research Institute.
Some of his publications have appeared in Development and Change, Urban Studies, Space and Polity, and the International Journal of Public Administration. He currently serves one of the managing editors for the African Development Review. He holds a PhD from Princeton University.
