ADB and other MDBs in Videoconference Consultations

"The African Development Bank will be increasingly involved in the conception and coordination of the Global Monitoring Report."  It was within the framework of this assertion that ADB officials held a videoconference discussion on the subject of the 2006 Global Monitoring Report with counterparts from the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The discussions focused on progress made so far in policies and actions that seek to achieve the MDGs, the responsibilities of all major actors – developing countries, donor nations and international financial institutions – and progress made since the publication of the 2005 GMR.  The session was co-chaired, from the Tunis end, by the Performance Review Division manager, Douglas Barnett, and the Financial Governance Division Acting Manager, Gabriel Negatu.
