At the invitation of French President François Hollande, African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina joined African leaders, including Guinea's President Alpha Conde, Benin's President Boni Yayi, Gabon's President Ali Bongo Ondimba, President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana, and Hailemariam Desalegn, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, for a pre-COP21 working lunch at the Elysée Palace in Paris, France, on Tuesday, November 10, 2015.

The African leaders were in Paris to discuss sustainable development and Africa’s interests regarding mitigating the effects of climate change ahead of the COP21 Climate Talks, taking place in Paris, France, from November 30 through December 11, 2015.

Africa, more than any other region in the word, will be hardest hit by the negative effects of climate change, yet the continent is responsible for only 4 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.
