17-Apr-2024 - The African Development Bank has concluded a three-day mission to Mogadishu, Somalia in preparation for completion of the country’s Interim Country Strategy Paper (I-CSP) 2022-2024 and annual Country Portfolio performance review.
The Bank team participants in the visit, which took place from 26th to 28th March 2024, sought to discuss implementation of the Bank’s strategy for the country, assess the Bank’s portfolio performance, and to draw lessons for the design of the new Country Strategy Paper for 2025-2029.

12-Apr-2024 - The African Development Bank successfully concluded a three-day workshop in Nairobi, Kenya, aimed at enhancing its Empowering Novel Agri-Business-Led Employment (ENABLE) Youth Program in preparation for its next phase.
The ENABLE Youth program helps young African men and women access financing to grow their enterprises. Currently active in 15 countries with investments exceeding $490 million, and benefiting around 40,000 youths, the program has emerged as a transformative force in fostering entrepreneurship and tackling youth unemployment.
12-Apr-2024 - The African Development Bank has published a report clarifying the legal framework, processes and governance for a call on the callable capital by the institution.
Callable capital refers to the portion of the Bank’s capital that is subscribed by shareholders but not immediately paid. It represents a commitment to make additional capital available to the institution in the very unlikely event that it cannot meet its obligations on its debts or guarantees.
