Regional Dialogue Meeting to Support the Promotion of PIDA Priority Action Plan Flagship Projects in Western Africa

The African Development Bank is hosting on 4-7 February 2013 a conference to promote the conditions for decisive support to the Priority Action Plan of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) in West Africa. This meeting will lead to the selection of four flagship projects to be supported by champion ministers.  

Those high level consultations will be held the presence of the Côte d'Ivoire Infrastructure Minister, representatives from the African Union, ECOWAS, ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development, West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU/UEMOA) and the West African Development Bank.

PIDA was adopted in January 2012. Within the PIDA program, a Priority Action Plan (PAP-PIDA) has been developed with priority infrastructure programs / projects. Those priorities cover the sectors of transport, energy, telecommunications and transboundary waters. The PIDA Priority Action Plan (PIDA-PAP) is composed of 51 projects identified in those four areas spread over the continent.
