20/05/2013 - The Electricity Authority of Benin–Nigerian Electric Power Authority power interconnection project, jointly financed by the African Development Bank, the West African Development Bank, and the Economic Community of West African States, is one of the sparkling flagship projects for regional integration and cooperation in West Africa. Financed under the West Africa Power Pool program, the project connects Benin’s power grid (CEB) to that of Nigeria (NEPA). Since its completion in 2007, like a beacon, the project has broken dawn, lighting up vast areas of rural communities that were once in economic darkness.

13/05/2013 - The African Development Bank, renewed its support for climate change resilience in Madagascar, Benin and Angola in accessing US $17.8 million of adaptation finance in the form of grants from the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) during the second quarter of 2013. It follows the approval last March of US $18.6 million for three water and sanitation projects.

05/02/2013 - La Facilité africaine de l’eau (FAE) vient d’accorder un don de 1,1 million d’euros à la municipalité de Sèmè-Podji, au Bénin pour mettre en œuvre des solutions efficaces, durables et rentables dans la gestion et l’exploitation des boues de vidange. Le projet s’inscrit dans le cadre d’un partenariat public-privé (PPP) pour la gestion des déchets, une collaboration rare dans le secteur de l’assainissement, sur le continent.

Award amounts will range from US $200,000 to US $500,000 per project, depending on the activity, and will be given to approximately 6-8 awardees.

05/11/2012 - 13 communes des départements de l’Atacora et de Donga au Bénin, verront leur capacité à réaliser et gérer efficacement des infrastructures et services d’eau potable et d’assainissement améliorée grâce à un don de 1 million d’euros de la Facilité africaine de l'eau (FAE) pour soutenir un projet de PROTOS Bénin. Ce don a été approuvé par la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) le 25 octobre 2012, et le projet devrait bénéficier à près de 900 000 habitants.

18/10/2012 - La Banque africaine de développement et le gouvernement du Bénin ont signé, mercredi 17 octobre 2012 à Tunis, un accord de prêt de 24 milliards de Francs CFA, en appui à la mise en œuvre des réformes économiques et financières du pays.

11/09/2012 - Le Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement a approuvé, le jeudi 6 septembre 2012 à Tunis, un prêt de 30 millions d’unités de comptes, soit environ 24 milliards de Francs CFA à la République du Bénin, en financement de l’appui aux réformes économiques et financières du pays.
