10/04/2012 - The forest resources of Burundi have been seriously degraded since the beginning of the socio-political crisis in the country. This 10 year-long crisis resulted in the country's forest cover rate decrease from eight percent to five percent.

24/02/2011 - «La BAD est le partenaire privilégié dans l’appui de nos réformes économiques et dans la réalisation des principales infrastructures économiques du Burundi ». Mme Clotilde Nizigama, ministre des finances du Burundi et gouverneur de la BAD, a fait cette déclaration, le 23 février 2011 à Tunis, lors de la cérémonie de signature d’un protocole d’accord de don de 24,1 millions d’unités de compte, soit environ 40 milliards de Francs burundais avec la BAD.

An African Development Bank (AfDB) Regional Integration Strategy Paper (RISP) for Eastern Africa will be validated at a workshop scheduled to take place on 11 November in Nairobi, Kenya. The RISP covers Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. It is designed to support for regional infrastructure and institutional capacity building, including trade facilitation.

27/09/2010 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), on Wednesday, 22 September 2010 approved UA 24.10 million* (approximately USD36 million) to improve the road between Ngozi and Nyangungu in the northern part of Burundi.

16/06/2010 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has approved a supplementary loan of UA 22.05 million* (USD 32.5 million) to Kenya under the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the Group. The additional loan will finance the Kenya-Uganda transmission line and sub-station reinforcement within Kenya. The Kenya-Uganda transmission line is part of the Nile Equatorial Lakes (NEL) Countries Electric Grids Interconnection Project.

28/05/2010 - En marge des 45e Assemblées annuelles du Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD), qui se tiennent depuis le 27 mai 2010 à Abidjan, a eu la signature d’un accord de don d’environ 15 millions USD portant financement du troisième programme d’appui aux réformes économiques (PARE III) entre la Banque et la République de Burundi.
