27/05/2010 - The Africa Development Bank (AfDB) committed USD 12.6 billion to finance projects, programmes and investments in its Regional Member Countries (RMCs) in 2009. This is more than double the USD 5.5 billion committed in 2008.

27/05/2010 - It was one of the pledges made by President Kaberuka at the end of the successful first African Women Economic Summit (Nairobi, March 2010). The aim of this high-level event was to raise greater awareness about women’s economic empowerment and gender equality. The Chief Operating Officer of the AfDB, Nkosana Moyo on behalf President Kaberuka stated in his opening speech “the importance of bringing the cause of women to the forefront of the development agenda of the continent”.

26/05/2010 - Le département énergie, environnement et changement climatique vient d’être crée. C’est une façon de renforcer les capacités existantes et de concentrer dans un département le travail que la Banque fait pour ce qui est du financement de l’énergie et d'appui à des investissement en infrastructures qui sont plus respectueuses de l’environnement et aident à lutter contre les impacts du changement climatique.

26/05/2010 - Earlier today 8 development finance institutions, who last year invested over USD 8.8 billion in projects across the continent, formally launched the African Financing Partnership (AFP). This collaboration will enable greater cooperation and co-financing, and work towards improving joint assessment and evaluation of private sector projects across the continent. This marks a significant development for effective use of donor resources in Africa and aim to attract greater private sector investment for private sector projects on the continent with strong development outcomes.
