08/04/2011 - In an effort to strengthen the quality of its direct on-the-ground support to regional member countries, the African Development Bank (AfDB) Board of Directors today approved a roadmap for decentralization of its operations over the next five years. The exercise revolves around three key pillars: strengthening the Bank’s existing field offices, expanding its presence in fragile states, and consolidating regional capacity.

Ordu, accompanied by members of the delegation of the African Development Bank (AfDB), including Janvier Litse, Director, Elisha Sulai, advisor to the AfDB director for Nigeria, John Baffoe, resident representative, Valentin Zongo, expert in infrastructure and representatives from the Ministry of Finance, visited on 25 November 2010, the land that the authorities of the Federal Republic of Nigeria made available to the AfDB Group to build its representative office.

25/11/2010 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) participated, on 24 November 2010, to a business lunch hosted by the Nigerian business community. The meeting aimed at gathering useful views from key stakeholders on the Nigerian business environment and on opportunities for cooperation. Participation was drawn from financial institutions, potential clients, investment bankers, private sector and SMEs.

24/11/2010 - As part of President Kaberuka’ visit in Nigeria, from 23 to 24 November 2010, January Litse, Director, African Development Bank (AfDB), met on 22 November 2010, in Abuja, with the Nigerian press. The briefing aimed at reviewing Bank Group portfolio in the country. To date, 33 projects and programs are being implemented by the AfDB in Nigeria.
