11/02/2010 - The Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA) is a component of the Enhanced Private Sector Assistance Initiative (EPSA), a billion-dollar joint initiative of Japan and the AfDB to promote private sector development in Africa. The FAPA trust fund provides untied grants for studies, technical assistance and capacity building for private sector projects and African institutions.

14/01/2010 - Meeting in a regular session on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, in Tunis, the Boards of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group approved a loan of USD 70 million and a grant of UA 600,000 to finance projects in Egypt’s agricultural sector, as well as a UA 23.31 million African Development Fund (ADF) grant to Togo, equivalent to USD 36,6 million.

11/11/2009 - The African Development Bank signed today a loan agreement at the Ministry of International Cooperation, with Minister Fayza Aboul Naga, Minister of International Cooperation. The Regional Director, Mr. Jacob Kolster signed on behalf of the Bank, and the Bank’s Resident Representative in Egypt, Mr K. C. Khushiram, was also present.

AfDB and Egypt Sign US$ 450 million Power Project Agreement

16/03/2009 - Tunis, 15 March 2009 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group affirmed its support to a major power project in Egypt on Sunday, 15 March 2009 in Cairo, with the signing of a US$ 450 million loan agreement for the construction of a 1300 MW (2x650 MW) steam turbine power plant near Ain Sokhna seaport on the Gulf of Suez.
