Le 12ème Forum économique international sur l’Afrique se tiendra au Centre de conférences de l’OCDE à Paris en France, le jeudi 4 octobre 2012. Sur le thème « Gestion des ressources humaines et naturelles : quelles politiques pour promouvoir l’emploi des jeunes en Afrique ? », ce Forum est organisé par le Centre de développement de l’OCDE en partenariat avec la Banque africaine de développement, le Programme des Nations Unies pour le développement, la Commission économique des Nations Unies pour l’Afrique et le gouvernement français.

Remittances back home to North Africa and the franc zone from African migrants working abroad are worth tens of billions of euros every year. They are resilient to crisis and are a valuable spur to development in Africa. However, the costs of sending this money are far too high.

The African Development Bank is participating in the 5th Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Global Conference in Paris from 2 – 3 March 2011. Leaders from governments, companies and civil society organizations will share views on how EITI has created a platform for dialogue, built trust, improved governance and enhanced the business environment in EITI countries. Together hundreds of EITI stakeholders will address future challenges and EITI’s future prospects.

A French parliamentary mission, led by Member of Parliament, Jean-Paul Bacquet, was received on Thursday, April 15, 2010, in Tunis by African Development Bank Group officials where it held a series of discussions. The mission sought to identify how to better coordinate bilateral and multilateral aid, including that delivered by the Bank Group. The delegation also sought to know how to enhance their geographic and sectoral complementarity. Discussions during their meetings also focused on strategic partnerships between the Bank Group and France in priority cooperation areas.

Le Groupe de la Banque a reçu, mardi 19 janvier 2010 à Tunis, la visite de Mme Nathalie Delapalme, inspectrice générale des finances au ministère français de l’économie. Avec le président Donald Kaberuka, Mme Delapalme a passé en revue les questions d’intérêt commun entre la France et le Groupe de la BAD portant sur l’aide au développement, en particulier l’intégration régionale, l’agriculture et les instruments de l’aide.

Selon un nouveau rapport du Fonds international pour le développement agricole (FIDA), l’agence des Nations Unies qui s’occupe de la pauvreté rurale, les travailleurs africains envoient plus de 40 milliards de dollars américains vers leur pays d’origine chaque année. Toutefois, les lois restrictives et les commissions élevées empêchent ces transferts de fonds de faire sortir les populations de la pauvreté.
