At the invitation of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group President, Nobel Laureate, Wangari Maathai, will deliver a lecture at the AfDB’s premises in Tunis, Tunisia, on the theme: “Natural Resource Management and Poverty Reduction: Strengthening the Links.” The lecture has been scheduled to take place on October 27, 2009, and its theme is motivated by the need to deepen current understanding of how good practice in the use of natural resources can promote rapid poverty alleviation, environmental sustainability and development, particularly in rural parts of Africa.
