The African Media Leaders’ Forum is holding its annual meeting from 10 to 11 November in Tunis, with the usual support of the African Development Banks. The opening session was marked by speeches delivered by Beji Caid Essebsi, Tunisian Prime Minister, and Donald Kaberuka, President of the African Development Bank.

The African Development Bank (AfDB) will hold its 2011 annual Partnerships Forum on 28-29 April 2011, at Hotel Ramada Plaza-Gammarth in Tunis, Tunisia, with a focus on regional integration. Participants at the forum will include representatives of bilateral and multilateral donors, the private sector, foundations and knowledge institutions.

The Bank is committed to Africa’s transformation to a green economy. To this end, the Bank will from 21-22 March 2011, host an international seminar on strategic environment and social assessments (SESA). The seminar aims at deepening the AfDB’s implementation of more environmentally and socially sustainable projects and programmes. Coodinated by the Compliance and Safeguards Division, the seminar will bring together at Hotel Sharaton, Tunis, leading international agencies involved in implementing strategic environmental and social assessments.

The 2nd Council meeting of the African Tax Administrators Forum (ATAF) opened on Monday, 15 November 2010 in Tunis. Jontly organised by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and ATAF, the meeting is in line with the AfDB's effort to help in strengthening domestic resources mobilization, fiscal self reliance and capacity development in Africa as well as to reinforce the Bank’s strategic partnership with ATAF. Dozens of participants will attend the meeting.

The African Development Bank (AfDB) will host a two-day roundtable consultation on African Perspectives on Climate Change Financing, from 21-22 September 2010 in Tunis. The Bank’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Nkosana Moyo, will open the roundtable on behalf of President Kaberuka who is attending the United Nations High-level Plenary Meeting on Millennium Development Goals.
