The African Development Bank and the development communication network (DevCom Network) whose secretariat is hosted by OECD, are organizing the “Tunis Round-Table Conference on Multilateral Aid and the Broad Public: Improving Results Communication” from March 22-23, 2010, in Tunis, Tunisia. The joint initiative aims at improving the practice of communicating on multilateral aid. Over sixty communicators from multilaterals and bilateral donors institutions are expected to attend the event.

The Coalition for Dialogue in Africa (CoDA) holds its third Board Meeting in Tunis on 27 and 28 February 2010. The Bank Group on Monday, February 8, 2010, in Tunis started a three-day-long African Economic Outlook (AEO) 2010 Peer Review Meeting. The meeting brought together the core team of AEO chapter authors, along with a team of peers and experts to review various country notes that are currently under preparation. The specific objectives of the meeting were to share progress to date on the various AEO 2010 chapters; get personalized guidance on the AEO 2010 model forecasts for the respective countries, as well as integrate expert and peer viewpoints.

The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the World Food Programme (WFP) will organize, on 20 January 2010, a High Level Technical Meeting in Tunis to discuss past and on-going cooperation between the two organizations, as well as opportunities for consolidating partnership. “The global food and financial crises, the state of continental agriculture and food security, as well as the current strategic directions of the Bank and WFP have heightened the need for innovation in development cooperation between both institutions”, said Mr Aly Abou-Sabaa, AfDB Director for Agriculture and Agro-industry Department.
