La forêt équatoriale du Bassin du Congo est la deuxième au monde, en termes de superficie, après le bassin amazonien. Elle constitue l’écosystème le plus riche de la région et abrite plus de la moitié des plantes et des animaux sauvages du continent. Elle s’étale sur plusieurs pays d’Afrique centrale (Cameroun, Gabon, Rep. Centrafricaine, Congo-Brazza-ville et R.D. du Congo).

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was established in 1992 at the Rio Summit with the aim of addressing the issue of global warming and its consequences. The Conference of Parties (COP) is the highest decision-making authority of the UNFCCC and its sessions take place once a year to specify rules for UNFCCC implementation.

The Africa Carbon Forum (ACF) is a regional platform established to promote knowledge and information sharing including business facilitation among the main carbon market players in the region. It is an event that brings together representatives from Designated National Authorities (DNA), Climate Change National Focal Points, Government and the Private Sector. This year the second Africa Carbon Forum has taken place in Nairobi, Kenya, 3-5 March 2010.
