01/04/2013 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a pu accompagner en 2011, l’Institut National de la Statistique (INS) dans la revue et la mise à jour de sa méthodologie de mesure de la pauvreté et ce en collaboration avec la Banque mondiale. Le travail a été mené en consultation avec un comité d'experts universitaires tunisiens, des représentants des ministères et des structures publiques et d’organisations non gouvernementales.

28/03/2013 - In a recent paper produced as part of a series on North African policies, the African Development Bank (AfDB) analyzes the prospects of exporting the health services available in North Africa.

Accelerated growth and job creation pose major challenges for the countries of North Africa (NAF), which are all facing a rapid increase in their workforce. In the Maghreb, the preponderance of the textile-clothing sector and outsourced automobile-related manufacturing in industry, as well the lack of alternative manufacturing specialization largely contribute to fragility.

19/03/2013 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) organized on the 12th and 13th March in Rabat, Morocco, a regional conference on the employment of young graduates from institutions of higher education. The object of the conference was to rethink and lay down more efficient reform policies with regard to higher education in order to guarantee the possible employment of young graduates.

Remittances represent a rising source of finance for the continent and hold immense potential as drivers of economic growth and development. A recent study, Leveraging Migration for Africa: Remittances, Skills, and Investments, conducted by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in collaboration with the World Bank shows that remittance flows into Africa reached US $40 billion in 2010 and have quadrupled since 1990. African remittances currently account for 2.6 per cent of GDP, a figure that in some countries equals or even exceeds both foreign direct investment and aid.

15/03/2013 - Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank and 2006 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, delivered on March 13 a message of hope to Tunisians at a national conference on social business in Tunisia. The conference, which took place at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (IHEC) in Carthage, was organized by the African Development Bank’s Human Development Department and Yunus Social Business, in collaboration with Global Shapers and Orange.
