29/03/2012 - The first Africa Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) will take place from April 1-3, 2012 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi. Hosted by the Government of Kenya, it will include an Experts’ Meeting (April 1-2) and a Ministerial Conference (April 3), and will highlight the need to invest in this key sector to foster human capital development, inclusive growth, and provide job opportunities for youth and women.

The AfDB is Sponsoring a multi-stakeholder conference in Nairobi Kenya on the 18th and 19th of April 2012. Hosted by the Government of Kenya, in collaboration with Anadach Consulting Group and Tele-Health Society of Kenya, the conference will identify best practices and lessons learned from previous experiences of developing national eHealth strategies. One of the first of its kind in Africa, the event will also focus on integrating mHealth into eHealth strategy implementation.

09/09/2011 - On 7 September, the African Development Bank Board of Executive Directors approved a USD 22.5m African Development Fund loan to the Republic of Mali to finance a major digital complex in the capital, Bamako. “This project is important for my country and the first of its kind in West Africa. With the Bamako Digital Complex, before December 2011, Mali will be connected through fiber optic to six out of its seven neighbors.
