Pour Modibo Traoré, chargé de gestion des ressources naturelles en chef à la BAD : «La Banque est fortement engagée dans la promotion du développement rural durable… C’est aussi l’occasion d’introduire en Afrique de nouvelles technologies plus sobres en carbone et partant, de promouvoir une croissance verte sur le continent». Il s’agit, affirme-t-il, d’un débat ouvert, auquel toutes les contributions sont les bienvenues.

07/04/2011 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Fragile States Unit Head, Sunita Pitamber, has commended the Bank’s commitment to Fragile States through the Fragile State Facility, noting that President Kaberuka’s support to fragile states was “truly visionary”. In an interview, Mrs. Pitamber explained why she shared President Kaberuka’s optimism about the Bank’s role in Fragile and post conflict countries. She revealed that “the timely and positive support provided by the Fragile States Facility has enhanced the Bank’s “preferred partner” status and the “first point of business” for many of the countries.”

15/03/2011 - One of the landmarks in the Bank’s efforts to implement more environmentally and socially sustainable programs and projects and consequently support Africa’s transformation to a green economy is the update of its Integrated Safeguards System. The Bank will on 21-22 March 2011 host an international seminar on SESA.
