11/12/2013 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has signed a loan agreement for US $21.34 million, together with a grant agreement protocol for the sum of $7.56 million. Both agreements relate to the program to support improving youth employability and integration, approved by the Bank’s Board of Directors on December 4, 2013.
06/12/2013 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et le Sénégal ont signé, le 2 décembre 2013 à Dakar, trois accords de prêts et de don, portant sur un total de 23,6 milliards de FCFA. Amadou Ba, ministre sénégalais de l’Economie et des Finances ainsi que gouverneur de la BAD pour le Sénégal, et Leila Mokaddem, représentante résidente de la BAD au Sénégal, ont cosigné lesdits accords.
03/12/2013 - A loan agreement for the Artisanal Fisheries Support Project was signed on Monday, December 2 by Septime Martin, the African Development Bank’s Resident Representative in Angola, on behalf of the Bank and Job Graça, the Minister of Planning and Territorial Development, representing the Government of Angola.
02/12/2013 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et la Fédération Nationale des Coopératives de Vivriers de Côte d’Ivoire (FENACOVICI) ont procédé le 29 Novembre 2013, à Abidjan, à la signature du premier accord de don du Fonds pour l’Accélération du Développement agricole, en faveur d’une entreprise ivoirienne.
11/11/2013 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and Namibia on Friday, November 8, 2013 signed a ZAR 2.9 billion (US $338 million) sovereign guaranteed loan to the Nambian Ports Authority (Namport) to finance the construction of the new container terminal at Port of Walvis Bay and a UA 1.0 million grant (US $1.5 million) to the Government of Namibia for logistics and capacity building complementing the port project loan. The project was approved by the AfDB Group in July 2013.
08/11/2013 - A delegation from the African Development Bank led by Moono Mupotola, Division Manager, Regional Integration and Trade (ONRI), and Freddie Kwesiga, Resident Representative in Zambia, and comprised of Zambia Country Office, ONRI and Southern Africa Regional Resource Centre officials participated in the inauguration of two Bank-financed trade-related projects, namely: the Tripartite Capacity Building Programme (TCBP) and the COMESA Trading for Peace Project.
08/11/2013 - The African Water Facility (AWF) signed a €1 million grant in favour of the Ghanaian NGO Training, Research and Networking for Development (TREND) to support an innovative sanitation scheme. The project, which is a tripartite collaboration among TREND, Safi Sana Ghana Limited and the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly, is designed to turn waste into bio-fertilizer and energy, whilst providing affordable and sustainable sanitation services for the unsewered urban poor communities of Ashaiman district of Accra.
07/11/2013 - The Agriculture Fast Track Fund, a new multi-donor trust fund, managed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), designed to boost investment in Africa’s agricultural sector, is now accepting applications for new grants.
18/10/2013 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and VoLo signed on Friday, October 18 a grant agreement amounting to US $284,472 to facilitate financial inclusion and improve the efficiency of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) financing in Senegal and The Gambia through the piloting of an innovative technology-based solution for collecting and disseminating credit information on MSMEs to prospective creditors. This innovative project will enhance the region’s financial structures by improving credit information, thereby ultimately fostering access to lending for local entrepreneurs.
03/10/2013 - The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, October 3 in Tunis establishing a partnership of cooperation, aimed at providing assistance to improve the lives of the most vulnerable in Africa.
