26/09/2011 - Eskom and the African Development Bank (AfDB) today signed two loan agreements for a total value of USD365 million that will enable the first large-scale implementation of renewable wind and solar generation in Eskom’s history.

08/04/2011 - The project will generate roughly 960,000 tons of sugarcane per year that will be used to produce 83,000 cubic meters (83 million liters) of anhydrous ethanol for export and possibly domestic consumption; and 165 Giga-Watt hour (GWh) of electricity of which roughly 100 GWh will be delivered to the domestic market.

23/02/2011 - The Congo Basin Forest Fund (CBFF) has signed on Monday 21st February 2011 in Tunis (Tunisia), an agreement about the management of CBFF projects. The Fund Management Agency (FMA) will be a consortium made of Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) and the foundation Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) and will assist the Bank manage CBFF operations under a threshold value of Euros 2.5 million.

20/09/2010 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Boards of Directors have authorized the signing of financial procedures agreements with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development acting (IBRD) as the trustee of the two Climate Investment Trust Funds (CIFs): the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and the Strategic Climate Fund (SCF).

11/12/2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB), on 2 December 2009, in Tunis, approved the establishment of the Climate for Development in Africa (ClimDev-Africa) Programme Special Fund (CDSF). The Board of Directors approval is however subject to the ratification of the Board of Governors, upon which a Governing Council shall be created to provide technical oversight of the CDSF while its broad implementation shall be subject to rules and procedures of the Bank

29/05/2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) approved a ZAR 100 Million equity investment in the Evolution One Fund, the first specialized private equity fund focused on the acceleration and deployment of clean energy and sustainable technologies across southern Africa to mitigate the effects of climate change on the Continent.
