17/09/2013 - The signing ceremony for the Declaration of Intent for the Joint Initiative on Youth Employment in Africa (JYEIA) took place on September 12, 2013 at the Headquarters of the African Union Commission (AUC) in Addis Ababa. The Initiative is a response by the AUC, African Development Bank, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the International Labour Organization to the call by African Heads of State and Government, at their Summit in Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea, held in July 2011, to tackle more decisively the youth employment challenge in Africa
27/01/2011 - The Boards of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, on 26 January 2011, agreed that Guinea-Bissau had met the conditions and requirements to qualify for debt relief under the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) Initiative.
17/09/2009 - Guinea Bissau’s Economy Minister and AfDB Governor, Maria Hélena Nosoline Embalo, and the AfDB Senegal Field office Resident Representative, Mohamed H’Midouche, on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, in Bissau, signed a grant agreement on a government capacity building support project (PARCA).

16/07/2009 - The Boards of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group held their regular weekly sessions on Wednesday in Tunis, where they approved five operations in four countries to the tune of US$ 113.85 million (73.36 Units of Accounts*) to finance in infrastructure development, governance and capacity building projects.

04/03/2009 - Guinea-Bissau’s Economy and Plan Minister, Héléna Maria José Nosolini Embalo; the WHO Resident Representative in Bissau, Allarangar Yokouide; and the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group’s Regional Resident Representative in Senegal, Mohamed H’Midouche; on Friday, February 27, 2009, in Bissau, signed a letter of agreement for the implementation of a US$ 500,000 emergency aid grant in support of efforts at checking a cholera epidemic
