07/11/2012 - Guinea will benefit from assistance estimated at US $639.2 million in end-December 1999 net present value terms, aimed at reducing the country’s external debt burden to sustainable levels following the country’s attainment of the completion point under the Highly Indebted Poor Countries (HIPCs) Initiative. By reaching the completion point, Guinea also benefits from additional debt cancellation under the Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative (MDRI).

04/02/2011 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a approuvé un don de 8,6 millions d’euros à la République de Guinée, pour aider le pays à créer les conditions favorables à la relance économique à travers une gestion des finances publiques plus crédible et une gouvernance renforcée des secteurs extractif et sylvicole. En matière de gestion des finances publiques, le don vise à pallier les faiblesses dans la préparation et l’exécution du budget ainsi que celles de la mobilisation des ressources financières de l’Etat.

27/01/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, approved on 21 January 2011, a USD 23-million grant to finance a rural electrification project in Guinea. The project will enable 60,000 rural people in 31 communities to access electric power along the national interconnected grid.

10/11/2010 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, approved on Tuesday, 9 November 2010 in Tunis, a USD 7.8-million (UA 5 million) grant to the West African Monetary Institute (WAMI), to cover the additional cost arising from the extension of the institute’s project to Liberia.

05/08/2008 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the West African Monetary Institute (WAMI) on Monday, in Tunis, signed a grant agreement of 14 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 23 million, to finance the West African Monetary Zone Payment System Development project, which aims at creating a single currency in the sub-region by standardizing the payment systems in The Gambia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
