19/11/2012 - Le Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a consenti le mercredi 14 novembre 2012 à Tunis, un prêt d’environ 17 milliards de FCFA à la République du Niger. Ce montant qui sera prélevé sur les ressources du Guichet FAD, contribuera au financement du Programme d’appui à la croissance inclusive et au renforcement de la sécurité alimentaire (PACIRSA).

24/10/2012 - A supplementary Technical Cooperation Agreement of the Korea Africa Economic Cooperation (KOAFEC) Trust Fund was signed on October 16, 2012, between Jaewan Bahk, Minister of Strategy and Finance, Republic of Korea, and Donald Kaberuka, President of the African Development Bank Group, during the KOAFEC Ministerial Conference in Seoul, Korea.

05/10/2012 - Mr. Ebrima Faal, Regional Director at the Southern Africa Resource Center (SARC) of the African Development Bank (AfDB), signed on behalf of the AfDB the agreements for a loan of ZAR 65 million from the AfDB to Trustco Finance (part of the Namibia based “Trustco” group) to support its student lending program in Namibia. The signing ceremony took place in Windhoek, Namibia’s capital. Also taking part in the ceremony were DEG and Proparco who signed the agreements for loans to Trustco Finance of ZAR 50 million each.

04/10/2012 - The Board of the African Development Bank approved on Wednesday, October 3, the Bank’s Framework for Enhanced Civil Society Organization (CSO) Engagement. This Framework is designed to better structure the AfDB’s broader and deeper engagement with CSOs both at the corporate, regional/country and project levels, through three dimensions: outreach, dialogue and partnership.

29/08/2012 - The African Development Bank Group, UNICEF and the Government of Madagascar signed a US $1-million grant agreement to fund rehabilitation of social infrastructure in the country following the devastating cyclones Giovanna and Irina, which hit the country in February. The signing took place on August 23 in Brickaville, about 250 km east of Antananarivo.

23/07/2012 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) recently approved a USD 7 million equity investment in the Business Partners International Southern African SME Fund (BPI SA). This contribution will allow BPI SA to increase access to finance and capacity building for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within various sectors in the southern Africa sub-region, thereby boosting income generation and job creation.

23/07/2012 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) recently approved a €7 million equity investment in the I&P Afrique Entrepreneurs SME Fund (IPAE). This will allow IPAE to increase access to finance and capacity building for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small microfinance institutions (SMFIs) in western and central Africa, thereby boosting income generation and job creation in the region.

18/01/2012 - The African Development Bank and the Government of Uganda signed two separate agreements on 12 January to finance projects to improve health services delivery and access to water and sanitation in both urban and rural areas of Uganda, with a total investment of USD 155.8 million. This double deal is expected to boost the country’s efforts to meet the 2015 Millennium Development Goals for health, water and sanitation.
