21/12/2010 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has approved 3 projects in the water sector in the last few weeks amounting to USD 114.35 Million. The Bank strongly believes supporting the sector is important to enhancing economic growth, improving living conditions as well as the health and education sectors of beneficiary countries.
21/10/2010 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved on Wednesday 20 October 2010 in Tunis, a USD 15-million equity investment in Catalyst Fund, a 10-year multi-sector private equity based in Kenya primarily covering the East Africa Community (EAC) as well as DRC, Ethiopia and Zambia. The target market has a population of 280 million, with a USD 126 billion combined GDP.
04/11/2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group approved on Tuesday, 3 November 2009 in Tunis, a loan of USD 123 million (Units of Account 77.92 million) to finance the Small Towns and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation project in Kenya.
31/07/2009 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has committed more than USD 30 million to Shelter Afrique in support of sustainable housing solutions in Africa. AfDB and Shelter Afrique signed a package of three financial agreements in Nairobi on 31 July 2009. Mrs. Domina Buzingo, Resident Representative of AfDB in Kenya, who signed on behalf of AfDB, indicated that the Bank “believes, it is through such collaboration that we can reach our development goals.”
02/07/2009 - In line with its commitment to support integrated infrastructure development in the Regional Member Countries, the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has approved a US$ 326 million (210 million UA) loan to finance the second phase of the Mombasa-Nairobi-Addis Ababa Road Corridor Project. It involves the construction and tarring of 438 km road sections including 245 km Merille River-Marsabit-Turbi road section in Kenya and 193 km Ageremariam-Yabelo-Mega road section in Ethiopia, the construction of roadside socio-economic infrastructure, and the construction of a One-Stop-Border-Post.
15/06/2009 - The AfDB and Kenya have signed loan agreements on the Farm Infrastructure and Rural Livelihoods Restoration Project and the Mombasa-Nairobi Transmission Line Project.
12/05/2009 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the Ugandan government have signed three loan agreements worth 132 million Units of Accounts (UA*), equivalent to US$ 197.7 million to finance projects and programmes in the country.
07/05/2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund on Wednesday in Tunis approved a loan of 50 million Units of Accounts, equivalent to US$ 75 million, to finance the Mombasa-Nairobi electricity transmission line project in Kenya.
06/05/2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group approved financing of KShs 174,800,000 (US$ 2.2 million) to support K-Rep Bank in Kenya.
06/05/2009 - Executive Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group held their regular sessions on Wednesday in Tunis, where they approved over US$ 235 million to finance operations in Sierra Leone, Kenya, DRC, and Rwanda.
