The African Development Bank (AfDB) launched the 2010 edition of the Africa Economic Outlook (AEO) on 22 July, 2010 in Lilongwe, Malawi. The event was organised to share key findings of the report and provide policy makers, the private sector, academia and the civil society the opportunity to discuss their implications for Malawi.

24/06/2009 - As part of the strategy to boost infrastructure development and regional economic integration in Africa, the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on Wednesday in Tunis, approved two loans amounting to US$ 181 million, (117.04 million Units of Account UA*) to Mozambique and Malawi to finance the construction of the first phase of the Nacala Road Corridor, which links the two countries and Zambia.

01/06/2009 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on May 28 and 29, 2009, launched a water and sanitation project in Lilongwe. The 5-year project, estimated at US$47.2 million, is part of the national water development programme being implemented by the Malawian government under the Irrigation and Water Development Ministry.
