21/03/2012 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) will host the Friends of Zimbabwe Roundtable, to discuss economic and political developments in the country on 23 March. The meeting will also focus on the prospects of dealing with the country's external debt arreears. The presentation of the Zimbabwe Accelerated Arrears, Debt and Development Strategy (ZAADDS) is a useful framework to address the issue of Zimbabwe’s external debt. ZAADDS is a key element of the government’s economic reform agenda.

06/11/2011 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) lent a strong voice to the international dialogue on health and development at the recent launch of the Rotterdam Global Health Initiative. The forum, whose theme was "World Health Stage: Imagining Global Health Anew," brought together renowned health and development professionals from around the world, interested in promoting new ways of thinking through global health challenges and finding new solutions to the gaps that still exist in health and health care.

14/06/2010 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) will on 14 June 2010 host the fourth Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Initiative (RWSSI) Trust Fund Steering Committee Meeting. The meeting will review the 2009 progress of RWSSI; approve the 2010 Lending Programme/Budget; and agree on the way forward. The meeting will bring together representatives from France, Denmark, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada, and the AfDB.

The forum, which took place from November 12-14, 2008, in Rotterdam, Holland, aimed at engaging high-level and emerging leaders from governments, civil society organizations and other decision-shaping institutions in discussions on policies and practices that reduce identity-based conflict, promoting diversity and building shared futures for economic and social betterment.

03/07/2008 - Prince Willem-Alexander of Orange, Netherlands, early this week called on African leaders to take urgent actions to speed up efforts in the water and sanitation sector on the continent. Speaking on Monday, June 30, 2008, at the Eleventh African Union Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, the Prince of Orange who addressed the august assembly in his capacity as the Chair of the UN Secretary-General’s Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation (UNSGAB), said that many people lived in poverty and suffered from hunger because they had no access to water and sanitation.
