15/05/2012 - The conference was co-hosted by Anadach Group, TeleHealth Society of Kenya and the Kenyan government, and was sponsored by the World Bank Group/IFC, the African Development Bank (AfDB), ICME/Magellan, FVC/Polycom, JSI, Safaricom Business and Pfizer. It was one of the first multi-stakeholder events focusing on e-Health in Africa that took place on the continent. Their goal was to exchange ideas, discuss innovative solutions and create collaborations in e-Health.

23/04/2012 - Teams from Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, and Tanzania joined counterparts from around the world at the annual pilot countries meeting for the Scaling Up Renewable Energy Program in Low Income Countries (SREP) in Nairobi, Kenya from 5 to 7 March 2012. Held annually to provide a space for pilot countries to discuss experiences, lessons learned and best practices in developing and activating SREP investment plans, the meeting this year offered African nations the opportunity to showcase their progress in advancing initiatives in renewable energy.

06/04/2012 - “I am fully satisfied with the African Development Bank support to Kenya” said President Kibaki. Discussions between the two leaders focused on regional integration and economic development. They also discussed economic prospects in Kenya. AfDB has played a catalytic role in Kenya and in the region, by mobilizing both sovereign and non-sovereign financing instruments to promote infrastructure development in the country.

03/04/2012 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) held a workshop on decentralization and transport projects with its development partners in East Africa in Nairobi on 21 and 22 March, where it was agreed to strengthen aid coordination to improve the efficiency of transport projects in the region.

29/03/2012 - The first Africa Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) will take place from April 1-3, 2012 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi. Hosted by the Government of Kenya, it will include an Experts’ Meeting (April 1-2) and a Ministerial Conference (April 3), and will highlight the need to invest in this key sector to foster human capital development, inclusive growth, and provide job opportunities for youth and women.

26/03/2012 - A new survey from the African Development Bank (AfDB) of the East African banking sector has found that it eager to do business with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The banks surveyed in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia view SMEs as ‘highly profitable’. They are also important providers of employment in the region.
