02/03/2012 - CLEAR is a global initiative aimed at strengthening developing countries’ capacities in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and performance management (PM) to support results and evidence-based decision-making (Centers for Learning on Evaluation and Results). It aims to do so by (1) supporting regional centers to develop and provide high-quality applied in-region training, technical assistance, and evaluation and advisory services; and (2) providing global learning to produce innovative materials and enable practical knowledge-sharing on M&E and PM across regions.

22/01/2012 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and its partners today released a trilingual version of the Quality Standards for Development Evaluation. It was released in Arabic, English and French under the aegis of a broad partnership bringing together the United Arab Emirates’ Office for Coordination of Foreign Aid, the network of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC), the Islamic Development Bank and AfDB.

02/05/2011 - High-level Public Financial Management (PFM) experts from across Africa are meeting in Tunis this week for a two-day workshop (3 - 4 May 2011) to discuss how to evaluate public financial management reform in Africa. The workshop, which is hosted by the African Development Bank's Operations Evaluation Department (OPEV), is part of the evaluation of PFM reform that the AfDB is undertaking jointly with Danish, Swedish and British Cooperation Agencies (DANIDA, SIDA and DFID).

04/02/2011 - The Bank Group’s senior managers, resident representatives (ResReps) and government officials, on Friday, February 4, 2011 in Tunis, held a seminar on development effectiveness issues and how to concretely translate the Paris Declaration principles into results on the ground. According to the managers, the discussions represent first key steps in setting up a framework to promote AfDB-led discourse on aid effectiveness.

01/02/2011 - The Evaluation Cooperation Group (ECG) today launched its most recent book, Evaluative Lessons for Agriculture and Agribusiness. The publication, a synthesis of evaluative findings from multilateral finance institutions, presents six action areas to help improve the outcomes of agriculture and agribusiness investments.
