28/11/2013 - With African Development Bank (AfDB) support, six African nations – Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Mali and Mozambique – made it through a global competition run by the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) to provide dedicated funding to engage the private sector in effective climate solutions. The seven project concepts endorsed for full project development in Africa focus on forests in Burkina Faso, DRC and Ghana, renewable energy in Kenya and Mali, and climate resilience in Mozambique.
13/11/2013 - With African Development Bank (AfDB) support, Burkina Faso has received an $11.5 million grant from the Climate Investment Funds’ (CIF) Forest Investment Program (FIP) to undertake the Gazetted Forests Participatory Management Project for REDD+* to create critically needed transformation of 12 of its gazetted forests.

24/10/2013 - The African Development Bank (AfDB), as a key implementing agency for the $7.6 billion Climate Investment Funds (CIF), has launched a new Growing Green series to expand stakeholder and public knowledge about its CIF partnership in Africa.
10/10/2013 - Burkina Faso will receive a US $50.66 million (UA 33.02 million) grant to finance a drainage and solid waste management project in the outlying districts of Ouagadougou. The sub-project was approved by the African Development Bank Group on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Tunis.
17/09/2013 - The signing ceremony for the Declaration of Intent for the Joint Initiative on Youth Employment in Africa (JYEIA) took place on September 12, 2013 at the Headquarters of the African Union Commission (AUC) in Addis Ababa. The Initiative is a response by the AUC, African Development Bank, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the International Labour Organization to the call by African Heads of State and Government, at their Summit in Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea, held in July 2011, to tackle more decisively the youth employment challenge in Africa
30/05/2013 - Thursday 9 May 2013 - Donald Kaberuka, the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB); Rajiv Shah, the Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and Gunilla Carlsson, the Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation, have announced the creation of an Agriculture Fast Track Fund for Africa.
22/05/2013 - Following the launch in March 2013 of Open Data Platforms in 30 African countries, the African Development Bank (AfDB) has launched additional data platforms in the following 10 African countries: Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Gabon, Mali, Madagascar, Niger, Somalia, Sudan. This brings to forty (40) the number of African countries already connected to the Open Data network (www.afdb.org/statistics).
