27/05/2012 - On 22 May 2012, the African Development Bank (AfDB) hosted a Joint MDB Adaptation Finance Tracking Workshop on the sidelines of the Climate Change Conference of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC), held from 14 to 25 May in Bonn, Germany. The MDBs discussed the adaptation concept that they will adopt, as well as the high level principles of the joint methodology, and a roadmap to test and disclose the methodology by the 2012 UN Climate Change Conference (COP18) in late November.

15/03/2012 - Over 100 Members of Parliament (MPs) from 40 African countries have agreed to step up efforts to improve the business environment on the continent by reviewing legislation linked to governance, trade barriers, and regional infrastructure in a bid to strengthen sustainable private sector development. They met during a conference on Private Sector Development in Africa as a Cornerstone for Sustainable Growth held in Kigali, Rwanda, March 14-16.

23/11/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved on 23 November a USD 20 million line of credit over 10 years to Housing Finance Bank Limited (HFB) Uganda to support residential and commercial real estate development aimed at benefiting low and medium income earnings through decent housing, as well as small and medium enterprises through commercial property and office space.
