Ce montant qui sera prélevé sur les ressources du Guichet FAD, contribuera au financement du Programme d’appui à la croissance inclusive et au renforcement de la sécurité alimentaire (PACIRSA).

25/08/2011 - AfDB President, Donald Kaberuka and his delegation attended the AU Conference in Addis Ababa, on 25 August 2011 on the crisis in the Horn of Africa – a combination of the worst drought in 60 years, the war in Somalia, the attendant refugee movements and internally displaced persons – which has exacerbated the impact of the drought. The Pledging Conference was convened to enable “an African response to an African problem” – from governments, international organizations and the private sector.

04/11/2010 - The Global Agriculture and Food Security Fund (GAFSP) Steering Committee approved on, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 in Washington D.C., a USD 97-million grant allocations to three countries. The selected countries are: Ethiopia (USD 51.5 million), Niger (USD 33 million) and Mongolia (USD 12.5 million). For Niger, the implementation will be done by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and for Ethiopia, by the AfDB and World Bank.

19/05/2010 - The private sector window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group received, on 19 May 2010, board approval for a USD 40 million equity investment in the African Agriculture Fund (AAF), a private-equity fund designed to respond to the food crisis that severely impacted the continent in 2008 in the wake of escalating food prices and staple export bans.
