28/09/2011 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) approved on Wednesday, 28 September 2011 in Tunis an eight-and-a-half-year USD 45 million senior loan to the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), to finance its planned investment commitments and support private sector infrastructure projects and infrastructure-related companies in sub-Saharan Africa. This is the second AfDB loan to EAIF. In 2009, the Bank approved a USD 31.25 million senior loan and a USD 12.5 million standby loan facility.

14/07/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a USD 40-million loan to finance the Rift Valley Railways (RVR). The five-year USD 246 million capital investment program involves two concessions over a rail network running from Mombasa in Kenya to Kampala in Uganda.

13/07/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a €20-million equity investment in the Maghreb Private Equity Fund III (MPEF III). This third-generation multi-sector private equity fund will target investments in Small and Medium Enterprises in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and, according to emerging investment opportunities, Egypt.

08/07/2011 - Le conseil d’administration du Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a approuvé le financement du projet d’infrastructures rurales, pastorales et de transhumance (PIRPT) au Tchad, pour un montant de 11,5 millions d’euros dont 50% de prêt et 50% de dons. Ces fonds seront prélevés sur les ressources du Fonds Africain de Développement (FAD, guichet concessionnel du Groupe de la BAD). Le PIRPT sera mis en œuvre sur une durée de cinq ans (2011-2016).

30/06/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the AfDB Group, on 29 June, approved a USD 64 million (40 million Units of Account) loan to Tanzania. The amount will be disbursed under the Marketing Infrastructure Value Addition and Rural Finance Programme (MIVARFP), which will be implemented over five fiscal years, 2011 – 2016.

30/06/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the AfDB Group, on 29 June, approved a USD 35-million loan to Rwanda. The amount will be disbursed under the country’s Livestock Infrastructure Support Programme (LISP), which will be implemented over four fiscal years, 2011 to 2015.
