01/12/2011 - Le Conseil d’administration de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a approuvé à Tunis, le 29 novembre 2011, un don de plus de 4,5 millions d’euros en faveur de la République du Rwanda, pour le financement du projet de gestion durable des boisements et de restauration des forêts naturelles du Rwanda. Ce projet est financé par le Fonds pour les forêts du bassin du Congo (FFBC).

17/11/2011 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Bank of Kigali today signed a USD 12 million line of credit and a USD 500,000 grant agreement for technical assistance from the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA). The AfDB’s line of credit will improve the Bank of Kigali’s liquidity and improve its ability to support key economic sectors, such as infrastructure, manufacturing, agri-business and tourism.

26/08/2011 - The African Development Bank and other lenders have committed USD91.25 million to the development of the Kivuwatt power project in Rwanda, under a loan agreement signed with ContourGlobal, a project developer, on Wednesday, 24 August 2011 in Kigali. The project’s total cost is USD 142.2 million. Development Finance Institutions will contribute USD 91 million, of which the AfDB will provide USD 25 million.

19/07/2011 - The African Water Facility (AWF), an initiative of the African Ministers Council on Water (AMCOW) hosted by the African Development Bank (AfDB), is awarded a grant of US$ 12 Million by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to finance projects to advance water and sanitation services across Africa.

15/07/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF) today in Tunis approved a budget support grant of USD 37.6 million (UA 23.2 million) from ADF-12 resource allocations to finance The Poverty Reduction Strategy Support Programme (PRSSP) Phase IV of Rwanda. The ADF support to the PRSSP-IV constitutes 13.9% of the total grant resources of USD 271.2 (UA 167.4 million) to which other development partners including the World Bank, European Union, Great Britain (DFID) and Germany are contributing.

30/06/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the AfDB Group, on 29 June, approved a USD 35-million loan to Rwanda. The amount will be disbursed under the country’s Livestock Infrastructure Support Programme (LISP), which will be implemented over four fiscal years, 2011 to 2015.

16/02/2011 - The international Trade Law Capacity Building Project was formally launched in Kigali (Rwanda), on February 11, 2011, by Rwanda’s President, Paul Kagame, and the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group President, Donald Kaberuka. This major legal capacity building project is a joint program of the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) and the Pan-African Lawyers’ Union (PALU). It is designed to strengthen international trade law practice on the continent and build the rule of law in the service of economic development of African countries.

08/02/2011 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved on Thursday, 3 February 2011 in Tunis, a USD 25-million senior private sector loan to finance the KivuWatt project in Rwanda. This project has been developed by ContourGlobal, a global power and energy company headquartered in New York. Along with a consortium of development finance partners, AfDB will finance the first large scale private sector investment in power generation in Rwanda.
