10/06/2011 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and the Government of Tunisia formally signed the agreement for USD 500 million in budget support, passed by the AfDB Board of Directors the previous month, on 10 June 2011.

18/05/2011 - The governance technical committee of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved USD 310,000 to finance an Economic and Sector Work (ESW) Study on voice and accountability. The study is designed to improve social service delivery programs in Tunisia and the Maghreb. A vacuum in voice & accountability mechanisms has been one of the major triggers of the revolution.

11/05/2011 - The Report, titled, “The BRICs in North Africa: Changing the Name of the Game?” says the group, which comprised Brazil, Russia, India and China during the time covered by the report (South Africa joined in 2011) is drawn to the region due to a growing need for raw materials and minerals; an amenable investment and regulatory climate; its relatively large population and overall GDP; low production and labour costs, and geographical proximity to European and Middle East markets.

03/05/2011 - The African Development Bank and the World Bank pledged USD 1billion to support Tunisia after the presidents of both institutions met in Tunis on 3 May 2011. In this joint action, each bank will provide USD 500 million in budget support to the country.

11/04/2011 - Tunisian Interim Prime Minister Beji Caid Essebsi today received President Donald Kaberuka in audience at his office in Tunis. Prime Minister Caid Essebsi expressed Tunisia’s appreciation to the AfDB for its support. "Tunisia very much appreciates all the support received from AfDB, not just over the years but particularly in the difficult times we have just gone through," he said.
