20/05/2010 - The African Development bank (AfDB) Group Board of Directors met on Wednesday, 19 May 2010 in Tunis and approved over USD 313 for five operations. Under the approvals Liberia will received USD 39.40 million comprising an ADF grant and a Fragile States Facility (FSF) grant: to finance the country’s urban water supply and sanitation project. The provision of water supply and sanitation on a sustainable basis to rural and urban dwellers in Liberia constitutes a priority development objective for the government, which significantly contributes to the fight against poverty and disease.

19/05/2010 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, approved on 19 May 2010 in Tunis, a grant of UA 24.63 million, equivalent to 37.22 million USD, and a Fragile State Facility grant of UA 1.46 million (equivalent to 2.21 million USD) to finance an urban water supply and sanitation project in Liberia.

19/03/2010 - President Blaise Compaoré of Burkina Faso, together with other African Heads of States, finance and planning ministers, and other high-level partners, will gather in Tunis on 23-24 March to discuss ways to build capacity in post-conflict countries. The meeting is a joint collaboration between the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) and will also be attended by heads of multilateral institutions; diplomats and development partners present in Tunisia, and AfDB and ACBF representatives.

01/06/2009 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on May 28 and 29, 2009, launched a water and sanitation project in Lilongwe. The 5-year project, estimated at US$47.2 million, is part of the national water development programme being implemented by the Malawian government under the Irrigation and Water Development Ministry.

19/11/2008 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved US$ 97.2 million (33.84 million Euros and 53.34 million dollars) loan to finance Morocco’s 10th Drinking Water Supply Project, bringing the Bank Group’s overall commitment in the country to US$ 5.64 billion in 93 operations since the Bank started operations in the country in 1970.

01/07/2008 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group President, Donald Kaberuka, on Monday, June 30, 2008, said that «the AfDB looks forward to efficiently contributing to efforts aimed at overcoming the water and sanitation challenge faced by African countries." Mr. Kaberuka made the remark while addressing some fifty African heads of state and government during the eleventh summit of the African Union in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The summit was held on the theme: "Meeting the Millennium Development Goals on Water and Sanitation."
